Sciatica is a disorder that causes mild to agonizing pain in one or both legs. The pain can be sudden and excruciating which worsens on prolonged standing. Basti- Basti treatment is one of the very important Panchkarma procedures in Ayurveda. Medicated oil enema is given by a trained therapist with different kind of oils or decoctions. Majority of the lymphatic system is around the intestines. Hence the oil uptake is done through intestines and quick response is seen. The pain is relieved in 2-3 seatings. Sciatica is a disorder that spoils quality of life of an individual. The longer it is left untreated, the longer it will take for numbness and weakness to go away and that may become permanent.
